MGMT
MGMT (antes conocidos como "The Management") es un grupo estadounidense formado por: Andrew VanWyngarden (guitarra y primera voz), Ben Goldwasser (teclado maestro y voz). La banda se formó en el año 2002 y debutaron profesionalmente en 2007 con el álbum Oracular Spectacular, editado por Columbia Records.

El grupo se formó en 2002 cuando Goldwasser y VanWyngarden se conocieron mientras estudiaban en la Universidad Wesleyana deConnecticut. En su primera etapa comenzaron a experimentar con varios estilos, como el noise rock o la electrónica, hasta que evolucionan a su sonido actual definido como "pop psicodélico". En 2005, tras graduarse, deciden grabar un EP llamado Time to Pretendy actuar en varios festivales de la escena independiente.
A finales de 2006 el productor y vicepresidente de Columbia Records, Steve Lillywhite, decide ofrecerles un contrato con su discográfica para grabar cuatro álbumes.1 El primero de ellos, Oracular Spectacular, salió en mayo del 2008 en Europa con el tema Time to Pretendcomo primer sencillo. Para la producción del álbum contaron con el trabajo de Dave Fridmann, que ya produjo a Weezer o The Flaming Lips entre otros grupos. Además, el primer sencillo Time to Pretend aparece en la cabecera de la película 21: Blackjack, también en la película de humor Sex Drive, y en el capítulo final de la segunda temporada de la serie británica Skins, y en el último capítulo de la primera temporada de la serie americana Gossip Girl.
El álbum ha tenido una buena acogida de la crítica, siendo calificado por la revista Rolling Stone como "grupo a seguir"2 y MGMT alcanzó el puesto duodécimo en las listas de álbumes británicas. BBC Radio 1 calificó al grupo como uno de los "Sonidos de 2008"3 y lo promocionó. MGMT interpretó "Time to Pretend" en su país ante una audiencia mayoritaria durante el programa Late Show with David Letterman,4 y su tema logró situarse en quinto puesto en las listas Heatseekers de Billboard.5
La banda compartió escenario con Radiohead en la parada de Mánchester de su tour mundial y anunciaron una intensa gira por el Reino Unido para el mes de noviembre.6 También tocaron en el Festival de Bonaroo de 2008, así como en el Festival de Glastonbury del mismo año, en el Roskilde Festival, Coachella, T in the Park, en el Oxegen irlandés, en el Motorokr fest, en Rock Werchter y en Lollapalooza. Todos ellos en 2008.
En 2008, el periódico de Boston The Phoenix los nombró Mejor Nueva Banda de Connecticut.7 En ese mismo año, se edita la canción Metanoia8 , liberada como single y que es una de las favoritas en sus shows en vivo, pues muestra una profunda evolución musical y una variante de sonidos que esclarecen el rumbo que ha tomado la banda; pero sobre todo el talento que muestran sus autores.
En Argentina, la revista [[Rolling Stone] le otorgó a su single "Kids" la condecoración de "Mejor canción del 2008" dentro de un ranking de 100 canciones.
Ahora, para 2010 los fanáticos esperan la salida de su nuevo disco "Congratulations",9 de cual se han mostrado en las presentaciones en vivo una canción con el mismo nombre. El disco saldrá a la venta el próximo 13 de abril y desde el sitio web de la banda ya arrancó la cuenta regresiva. “Definitivamente va a shockear a la gente”, comentó Andrew VanWyngarden sobre este nuevo álbum que al parecer, es bastante esperado.10
El 22 de enero de 2011, la banda brindó un recital de entrada libre y gratuita en Mar del Plata, ante más de 45.000 personas, siendo este uno de sus mayores recitales hasta el momento

Sid Vicious bajista de los Sex Pistols
Simon John Ritchie (Londres, Inglaterra, 10 de mayo de 1957– Nuea York,Estados Unidos 2 de Febrero de 1979), mejor conocido como Sid Vicious, fue el bajista del grupo Sex Pistols y una figura icónica del punk.
Estuvo involucrado en el nacimiento del punk.
En1974 a los 17 años de edad, Sid ya había empezado a consumir drogas intravenosas con su madre, en particular anfetaminas. Alrededor de 1975, había empezado a autolesionarse y mostraba tendencias antisociales; algunos informes revelan que había asaltado a varios jubilados. Sid Vicious padecía el trastorno limite de la personalidad o borderline.
Desde niño, Sid siempre mostró fascinación por personajes que alcanzaban la fama rápidamente y morían jóvenes dejando tras de sí un halo de leyenda y misticismo.
Descrito por sus amigos como 'esbelto y agradable', Ritchie tomó el nombre artístico de "Sid Vicious" que venía de una irónica broma relacionada con el hamster de Jhon Lydon (Johnny Rotten), "Sid", que al parecer le mordió y fue llamado "Vicious" (por su connotación en inglés de malicioso) por Sid. Aunque su primer nombre era Simon, él se refería a sí mismo como John. Por ese tiempo ocupaba una casa con John Lydon, John Wardle (jah Wooble) y John Gray. El grupo de amigos era generalmente conocido como The Four Johns (los cuatro Johns). Una tarde Sid dijo "Volveremos en el 2008, seremos felices, no seremos infelices jóvenes urbanos, sino 'mutantes del cosmos'". Este comentario explicaría la aparición de una serie de sitios que hablan del tema promoviendo ideas alocadas y transgresoras.
Sid hizo un esfuerzo deliberado para encajar con los mitos que surgían en los medios sobre él y su nombre, pero John Lydon comentó que "Sid no podría ni darle un puñetazo a una bolsa de patatas fritas". Fue un marginado.
Al ser conocido como "el máximo fanático de los Sex Pistols" y ser amigo cercano de Jonny Rotten, la banda le pidió a Vicious que se uniera al grupo después de que Glen Maltock se fuera en febrero de 1977.
El mánager, Malcom Mclaren, dijo una vez: "Si Rotten es la voz del punk, entonces Vicious es la actitud". Su carácter punk sobrepasaba su habilidad al tocar, pues nunca fue reconocido por sus capacidades musicales, aunque sí tenía facilidad innata para la composición como se descubrió posteriormente al saber que "Belsen Was a Gas" fue compuesta por él. En la biografía de los Sex Pistols escrita por Jon Savage, England's Dreaming, cuenta que las partes de bajo de la banda fueron grabadas por el guitarrista Steve Jonnes y que cuando tocaban en vivo el amplificador de Sid estaba apagado frecuentemente. Además, LemmyKilmister de Motörhead contó que Sid le pidió que le enseñase a tocar el bajo expresándole textualmente "no sé tocar el bajo", la respuesta de Kilmister fue, "ya lo sé".
En su autobiografía No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs, Lydon escribió: "no era tan malo para canciones de tres acordes". Sid tocó su primer concierto con los Pistols el 3 de Abril de 1977, en Screen on the Green, Londres
En noviembre de 1977 Sid conoció a la groupie Nancy Spugen e inmediatamente comenzaron una relación. Ella era una adicta a la heroína y Vicious, quien ya creía en su propia imagen de "vive rápido, muere joven", pronto compartió la dependencia. Aunque estaban profundamente enamorados, su usualmente violenta y rocosa relación tuvo un efecto desastroso en los Pistols. Tanto el grupo como Vicious se deterioraron visiblemente durante su tour por los Estados Unidos de 1978. Los Pistols se separaron en San Francisco después de su concierto en el Winterland Ballroom del 14 de Enero de 1978. Había recibido una única herida de puñalada en el abdomen y aparentemente se desangró hasta morir. Vicious fue arrestado y acusado de su asesinato, pero él decía no tener ningún recuerdo de haberlo hecho. Hay muchas teorías de que Spungen fue asesinada por alguien más, aunque la más usual dice que fue uno de los dos traficantes de drogas que visitaron su cuarto esa noche y que, probablemente, involucraba un robo, pues algunos artículos no se encontraron en el cuarto.
La fianza de U$S 50.000 fue pagada por Virgin Records a pedido de McLaren. El plan era que Vicious grabara un álbum con sus compañeros de los Pistols, Steve Jones y Paul Cook, para recaudar fondos para su defensa. Éste iba a ser una colección de éxitos, incluyendo, según McLaren, "White Christmas" y "Mack the Knife". También se consideró, según Paul Cook, que el álbum fuera a ser una selección de las canciones favoritas de Sid e incluyera pistas de The Stooges, Ramones, New York Dolls y The Heartbreakers. El 2 de febrero de1979 se celebró una fiesta para celebrar su liberación en la casa de su nueva novia Michelle Robinson. Durante su estancia en la prisión de Rikers Island, Vicious había pasado por una terapia de rehabilitación de drogas y supuestamente estaba curado.
Sin embargo, en la fiesta obtuvo algo de heroína, y pidió a Michelle que le inyectase, quien se negó a hacerlo y fue su madre quien le dio una sobredosis suficiente para matar a dos personas. Ella pensó que eso acortaría su sufrimiento, pues ella también era adicta desde hace muchos años. Fue descubierto muerto a la mañana siguiente a causa de dicha sobredosis, los medios de comunicación creyeron por muchos años que Sid se había suicidado, pero fue su madre quien confesó que le había suministrado la sobredosis de heroína que causó su muerte. Al momento de su muerte, Sid tenía 21 años. Su madre también adicta a la heroína murió de sobredosis en 1996.
Unos días después de ser incinerado, su madre encontró una nota de suicidio en el bolsillo de su chaqueta. Decía "Hicimos un pacto de muerte, yo tengo que cumplir mi parte del trato. Por favor, entiérrenme al lado de mi nena. Entiérrenme con mi chaqueta de piel, vaqueros y botas de motociclista. Adiós. Con amor, Sid".
La vida de Sid Vicious y su relación con Nancy fue filmada en 1986 por Alex Cox en la película Sid & Nancy - Love Kills (en español: Sid y Nancy - el amor mata). Glen Matlock fue asesor de la obra y Gary Oldman interpretó a Vicious. Iggy Pop también tiene un papel en la película. Esta película ha sido largamente criticada por John Lydon, que dice que no se ajusta en nada a la realidad.
El bajista de la banda norteamericana de punk Ramones, Dee Dee Ramone, escribió la canción Love kills, que relata la historia de Sid y Nancy. Esta canción se incluye en el disco Animal Boy de 1986.

He had a Gibson SG with which he played until the wood broke, because of all thesweat and the water that entered. He had twisted around the neck. I bought it second hand, it was a model 67. I had a really thin neck, very smooth, like a custom neck. It was dark brown. Angus Young was born in Glasgow, Scotland, where he lives with his older brothersMalcolm and George. In 1963 the Young family migrated to Australia, settling inSydney. Angus and Malcolm get guitar lessons from his brother George, a member of The Easybeats. Because of his age, had no success he craved with this band, becauseat only being 13 years old could not get into clubs to play. With Home were the opening act for Led Zeppelin then moved to London again with his band to try his luck, here waspresented with many opportunities and gained much experience playing with manybands and singers.He was in several bands until he went to Bandit, which quickly became the support ofArista Records and released his debut album.
